Organisation Settings¶
Ignore Blank DOB
Ignore Blank DOB is a setting which, when turned On, allows matches to be ignored if either the Member or the matching watchlist entity do not have a Date of Birth.
This parameter is set at organisation level (by the organisation's Compliance Officer) and cannot be user defined prior to scanning.
Due Diligence¶
Assessed Risk
An Assessed Risk of High, Medium, or Low can be allocated to matches where the due diligence decision recorded is Match or Not Sure.
Scan History and Batch Scan History can be filtered by Assessed Risk of High, Medium, Low or Unallocated.
Filtering Scan History for Unallocated Risk produces Match and Not Sure decisions with Unallocated Assessed Risk and all Not Reviewed matches.
Watchlist Categories¶
Financial Crime
A category used to classify SIP or SIE watchlist entities.
Person or entity found or pleaded guilty, convicted, and/or sentenced for crimes relating to embezzlement, theft, fraud, money laundering, extortion, bribery or corruption, tax evasion, tax fraud, insider trading, market manipulation, racketeering, securities fraud etc.
Law Enforcement
A category used to classify SIP watchlist entities.
Persons appearing on an official law enforcement public domain site as either wanted, investigated, or arrested by an official law enforcement body or the police; or individuals or entities charged, prosecuted, convicted and/or sentenced by a competent criminal court that constitutes a criminal act.
Scan Parameters¶
Close Match Rate
Close Match Rate is an option available in the Close match Scan Parameters to allow you to refine the scan results by setting a Close Match Rate threshold.
MemberCheck analyses each Close match result and rates the closeness of the match by assigning a percentage from 1-100, with 1% being not close and 100% being very close. Entering a match rate threshold allows you to refine your Close scan match results, e.g. entering 50 will display only match results with a match rate of greater than or equal to 50%. The Close Match Rate setting can be user defined or a fixed threshold can be set in the Organisation Settings.
Match Type - Corporate Scanning
Match Type is a setting which determines the degree of accuracy used when matching company details against watchlist entities.
Company Name is always used when matching. ID number is also matched against if included. The default Match Type, which is set by the scanning organisation's Compliance Officer, can be Exact, Close or User Defined:
Exact - the Scan Results show matches, where the Company Name (excluding stoplist words, special characters and punctuation) matches exactly. If a company ID Number, or a partial ID Number, is included in the scan, a match is shown if the watchlist record contains that ID Number or has no ID Number.
Close - the Scan Results show matches, where the watchlist record contains the Company Name (excluding stoplist words, special characters and punctuation). If a company ID Number, or a partial ID Number, is included in the scan, a match is shown if the watchlist record contains that ID Number or has no ID Number.
User Defined - The user entering the company data will have the option of selecting this at the time they perform the company scan or the batch scan.
