Change Compliance Officers

Changing Compliance Officer Roles

An organisation can only have one Compliance Officer, however, the Compliance Officer of a parent organisation or group of organisations, is able to change the Compliance Officer user for child organisations whilst maintaining Compliance Officer level access.

Multi Level Organisation

Assign another non-Compliance Officer and retain access for outgoing Compliance Officer

To change the Compliance Officer of a child organisation to another non-Compliance Officer user, and retain access to the organisation for the outgoing Compliance Officer. This requires the Compliance Officer of the parent organisation to carry out the following steps.

  1. Login as the Compliance Officer for the parent organisation.
  2. Select Administration > User.
  3. Select the outgoing Compliance Officer from the User List
  4. Click on Edit User button.
  5. Change the User Role to be Advanced User (or another role as appropriate) and click Accept.
  6. Select the user who will be the new Compliance Officer.
  7. Check that this person is assigned to the required organisation in the Assigned Organisations tab.
  8. Return to the User Details tab and click the Edit User button.
  9. Change the User Role to be Compliance Officer.
  10. Click on Accept button to apply changes.
  11. Click on Administration > Organisation.
  12. Select the Organisation in the Organisation List
  13. Select Users tab and click Edit Org button.
  14. In the Compliance Officer drop down list, select the new Compliance Officer.
  15. Click the Accept button to apply changes.

Assign another non-Compliance Officer and disable access for outgoing Compliance Officer

To change the Compliance Officer of a child organisation to another non-Compliance Officer user, and disable access to the organisation for the outgoing Compliance Officer. This requires the Compliance Officer of the parent organisation to carry out the following steps.

  1. Login as the existing Compliance Officer for the parent organisation.
  2. Select Administration > User.
  3. Select the outgoing Compliance Officer from the User List
  4. Click the Disable User button.
  5. Select the user who will be the new Compliance Officer.
  6. Check that this person is assigned to the required organisation in the Assigned Organisations tab.
  7. Return to the User Details tab and click the Edit User button.
  8. Change the User Role to be Compliance Officer.
  9. Click on Accept button to apply changes.
  10. Click on Administration > Organisation.
  11. Select the Organisation in the Organisation List
  12. Select Users tab and click Edit Org button.
  13. In the Compliance Officer drop down list, select the new Compliance Officer.
  14. Click the Accept button to apply changes.

Single Level Organisation

Assign to another non-Compliance Officer user

To replace the outgoing Compliance Officer with another existing user. This will completely remove access for the outgoing Compliance Officer.

If you require the outgoing Compliance Officer to retain access to the organisation, please contact support@membercheck.com with this request. Please refer to the FAQ for details.

It is important to complete these steps below in its entirety, otherwise, you may lose Compliance Officer rights to the organisation.

  1. Login as the existing Compliance Officer.
  2. Select Administration > User.
  3. Select the user who will be the new Compliance Officer.
  4. Click the Edit User button.
  5. Change the User Role to be Compliance Officer.
  6. Click on Accept button to apply changes.
  7. Click on Administration > Organisation.
  8. Select the Organisation in the Organisation List
  9. Select Users tab and click Edit Org button.
  10. In the Compliance Officer drop down, select the new Compliance Officer you have created.
  11. Click on Accept button to apply changes.

This will now replace the Compliance Officer of the organisation and the other previous Compliance Officer will no longer have access to the organisation.

Assign to new user

This applies to both single and multi level organisations.

  1. Login as the existing Compliance Officer.
  2. Select Administration > User.
  3. Create the new user account with User Role as Advanced User and assign them to the organisation.
  4. Click Accept to save changes.
  5. Click on Edit User again and change the User Role to Compliance Officer.
  6. Click Accept to apply changes.
  7. Click on Administration > Organisation.
  8. Select the Organisation in the Organisation List
  9. Select Users tab and click Edit Org button.
  10. In the Compliance Officer drop down, select the new Compliance Officer you have created.
  11. Click on Accept button to apply changes.

This will now replace the Compliance Officer of the organisation and the other previous Compliance Officer will no longer have access to the organisation.
